The canine nose is a miracle of nature. The world as experienced by the dog is very much determined by his nose. Human beings are mainly lead by vision and hearing. Their sense of smell has become of minor importance. On the other hand dogs depend greatly on their sense of smell. A dog has in fact 2 olfactory organs: the regular organ (the nose) and Jacobson's organ. .
